ARNE BRATTLAND grew up in a fjord village in northern Norway. After successful studies at the Norwegian State Academy of Music, he made his Norwegian solo debut in 1983. Further studies in London, aided by grants from British Council and others led to an international debut at the Wigmore Hall, London, in 1988. Since then Arne has toured several countries, including visits to the USA and Canada. He has frequently been featured on Norwegian national radio and TV and has so far issued three solo records. Arne has been involved in numerous chamber music projects over the years and was for a long period working as district musician in Mo i Rana, Norway. Arne now lives in England with his family where he works as a teacher and freelance musician, and is very much involved at the guitar scene in the UK.
JARL STRØMDAL grew up just north of the Arctic Circle in Norway. He is educated at the Norwegian State Academy of Music, Oslo and later at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Jarl was awarded a British Council Scholarship, and received in 1990 The Concert Recital Diploma - Premiere Prix. He has given many recitals in England and throughout Norway. Jarl takes great interest in collaborating with other art forms, and has worked with actors, painters, and dancers, at times appearing both as musician and actor. In the period of 1990-94 Jarl was head of Meløy council music school, northern Norway. He is now based in Trondheim, Norway, where he is in charge of the guitar studies at NTNU.
TROND DAVIDSEN comes from Saltstraumen in the north of Norway, but has been living and working in Drammen since 1985. He is educated from the Norwegian State Academy of Music, Oslo) and from the Buskerud Music Conservatory and Østlandet Music Conservatory, partly studying in England with John Mills.Trond made his national debut in 1994 as a solo artist at FINN (The Music Festival of Northern Norway), and his international debut took place in 1997 in London, Purcell Room. In addition to performing on Norwegian radio and TV Trond has done numerous concerts with various artists home and abroad. In 1999 he undertook a solo tour in Mexico and USA, Texas and in 1992 he performed the Aranjuez-concert with Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation Orchestra. He has given more than 500 school performances organized by the Norwegian Concert Institute, Rikskonsertene. Trond has received several awards, among them the first prize in Norway’s first guitar competition in 1991. Later he has released 2 solo-CD’s and 1 duo-CD with saxophone.
